About Frank

My name is Frank, and I am a certified TEFL/TESOL ESL teacher, professionally trained and certified by The TEFL Org. I have a strong academic background and extensive instructional experience that help me support learners of English in practical, confidence-building ways.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies from Florida International University and later completed a Master of Philosophy in Japanese Studies at the University of Oslo in Norway. These degrees gave me deep exposure to language, culture, and research, skills that directly inform my approach as an English teacher.

I am also an author of several books on Japanese martial arts, philosophy, and culture, and I contribute educational Wikipedia articles on classical martial history. This writing experience has strengthened my command of English grammar, clarity of expression, and ability to explain complex ideas in simple, accessible terms, essential qualities for effective language instruction.

In addition to my ESL work, I have taught for many years at the Institute of Budo Studies, where I worked with students from diverse backgrounds. This teaching experience has reinforced my ability to adapt lessons to individual needs while maintaining a clear, respectful, and structured learning environment.
