About Tessa

My passion for Mathematics grew from enjoying logical problem-solving and structured thinking. I pursued an M.Sc in Mathematical Sciences, where I strengthened both theoretical understanding and analytical discipline. Over 12 years of teaching, I have guided students across elementary school math, middle school math, SAT math preparation, and early Calculus, helping them overcome anxiety and build steady confidence. I believe mathematics instruction should be patient and encouraging. I take time to understand how each student learns and adjust explanations using visual models, step-by-step reasoning, and relatable examples. I encourage learners to ask questions freely and see mistakes as part of growth. Outside teaching, I continue exploring mathematical ideas and educational strategies. Teaching Math is deeply fulfilling because I witness learners grow more confident and independent. Helping students trust their reasoning is the most rewarding part of my work.

About the lesson

Mathematics becomes far more approachable when students are guided patiently and encouraged to understand ideas rather than memorize procedures. My lessons cover elementary school math, middle school math, geometry, algebra, SAT math, and Calculus, all explained using clear language and logical progression. I focus on helping learners see how mathematical concepts connect, allowing them to approach problems with confidence instead of fear. Lessons are calm, supportive, and designed to reduce pressure while strengthening understanding.

Lesson structure is adapted to each learner’s stage. Elementary school math focuses on number sense, arithmetic accuracy, and basic problem interpretation. Middle school math introduces geometry concepts, proportional reasoning, and early algebra through visual explanation. Advanced learners work on algebraic manipulation, SAT math strategies, and introductory Calculus, emphasizing clarity and structured reasoning. Practice is included gradually to reinforce confidence without overwhelming students.

Maths lessons also help learners build patience, focus, and trust in their own thinking. As understanding grows, students become more willing to attempt challenging problems independently. Many learners begin to view mathematics as logical and achievable. My goal is to help students feel calm, capable, and confident in their mathematical abilities.
