About Ava

My passion for mathematics began with an appreciation for its logical structure and precision. This led me to pursue a B.Sc in Mathematics followed by an M.Sc in Pure Mathematics, where I developed deep theoretical understanding and problem-solving skills. Over 11 years of teaching, I have helped students overcome math anxiety and build lasting confidence.

I believe mathematics should be taught with patience and clarity. My teaching approach emphasizes understanding over memorization and encourages learners to explore multiple solution paths. I adapt explanations to suit individual learning styles, ensuring steady progress.

Beyond teaching, I stay engaged with mathematical research, problem-solving communities, and educational methods. Teaching mathematics is fulfilling because I witness students transform uncertainty into confidence and develop strong analytical skills that benefit them across disciplines.

About the lesson

Mathematics becomes approachable when learners understand the reasoning behind formulas and methods. My lessons focus on building strong conceptual foundations in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and statistics. I guide students through step-by-step reasoning, ensuring they understand how and why each method works. Clear explanations, visual aids, and structured problem-solving help reduce anxiety and build confidence.

Lesson pacing is adjusted to suit each learner’s level. Beginners focus on number sense, basic operations, and foundational algebra with repetition and encouragement. Intermediate learners develop equation-solving skills, functional understanding, and multi-step problem strategies. Advanced learners work on calculus concepts, proofs, exam techniques, and analytical accuracy. Practice problems, error correction, and reflective discussion are integrated into every lesson.

Maths lessons also strengthen discipline, patience, and logical thinking. As students gain clarity, they approach challenges more confidently and develop resilience in problem-solving. My goal is to help learners feel capable, calm, and confident when working with mathematics.
