About Andrea

I am Andrea, a neuroscience PhD with over 8 years of experience in biology and brain research, currently working in translational neuroscience. My work focuses on understanding complex brain processes using advanced human cell models, which gives me a strong and up-to-date foundation in biology.

Alongside my research, I have extensive experience as a mentor and educator. I have taught and supported university-level courses, as well as mentored students at different stages of their training, including university and medical students. I have also been involved in science outreach, helping make complex topics accessible and engaging for a wide range of learners.

I take my role as a tutor seriously and provide structured, reliable, and high-quality support tailored to each student. I am patient, organized, and committed to helping students build both understanding and confidence in their abilities.

About the lesson

I am a neuroscience PhD with experience teaching and mentoring students from middle school to university level. My approach focuses on helping students truly understand concepts rather than memorize them. I break down complex topics into clear, intuitive ideas and connect them to real-world examples, including insights from current research when helpful.

Each lesson is tailored to the student’s needs. We start by identifying what feels unclear, then work through concepts step by step using explanations, diagrams, and guided problem-solving. I encourage active participation so students build confidence and learn how to approach questions independently.

What sets me apart is my combination of research experience and a calm, supportive teaching style. I aim to create a space where students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging with the material. My goal is not only to improve performance, but to help students feel confident and capable in science.

I work with students at middle school, high school, and university levels, particularly in biology and related subjects, and I can support exam preparation, assignments, and study strategies.
