About Andrea
My name is Dr. Andrea Benabent, and I am originally from southern Spain. I earned my Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from the University of Houston. As a former lecturer in piano at Sam Houston State University and currently a member of Da Camera’s Young Artist program, I have witnessed how significant perseverance, dedication, inspiration, and compassion are to the growth of young students aspiring to have a meaningful career. Throughout my career, I have developed a teaching philosophy centered on students’ artistic expression and providing a solid foundation in technique, musicality, and general music knowledge. I aim to enhance students’ learning experience with active listening and problem-solving solutions based on years of personal and professional experience in the collaborative arts.
